FlipSid3 Tactics move into South African waters by announcing the signing of a new team in the region.

FlipSid3 Tactics, an organisation which already fields a European team and which has long been a familiar sight in the CS scene, has announced the signing of a South African team.

More specifically, the team will be playing under the “Counter-Strike Academy” brand name, which is dedicated to helping new players improve their game.

The F3.ZA Academy lineup is now officially:

Jaun “Zeo” Nieuwoudt
Matthew “dffiaNt” Morris
Connor “KING” Laming
Jean “kustoM” Herbst
Stefan “Nefan” Smit

Of note is the composition of FlipSid3’s South African team. Composed of two players from the old nAv lineup and three players from In-Finity, the new FlipSid3 team is a joint venture of South Africa’s highest tier of players.

Fredrik “Fortizio,” the founder of the FlipSid3 Counter-Strike Academy, added his statement on the acquisition:

“I am very happy with this addition to the organization. Having a team for our ‘Counter-Strike Academy’ is very nice and I believe that they will fit right in.  The idea with Flipside Tactics Counter-Strike: Academy was to help people to become better at the game that we all love while having fun. With these guys under our wings, I believe that it will be a great thing for both the Academy, Flipside and the players in question.”

Of the two teams which comprise the new Flipsid3 lineup, In-Finity have been slightly more prevalent on the South African scene, making it to the finals of the Telkom Gaming CS:GO Championship. They lost to Bravado, who are well known as the team which attended DreamHack Winter 2014.

nAv were last seen in November 2014 in the grand final of the Orena LifeChild Invitational, ultimately losing there 3-1 to another South African team, eNergy.

Somewhat confusingly, the nAv organisation name was then used by the three players from In-Finity in The Logitech Invitational in December, where the old players from In-Finity managed to beat Bravado but lost to eNergy in the end as well.
