iBUYPOWER’s $15,000 Fall Invitational online tournament kicks off this weekend, and we now have a prize-pool breakdown and schedule, along with the addition of a ninth team.
iBUYPOWER’s Fall Invitational is the third Invitational series run by the gaming computer vendor. The last edition, the Summer Invitational, was won by Keyd Stars (who are now Luminosity), netting the Brazilians a cool $7,500 for first place.
The Fall Invitational will begin tomorrow September 12th and conclude the following day on September 13th. CEVO, who are helping to run the tournament in conjunction with iBUYPOWER, have now released further information about the event including the prize-pool breakdown and a schedule.
The list of competing teams is once again as follows:
As can be seen, the Brazilian team Games Academy have been added to the team list as a ninth team. This change means that Mythic, the eighth-ranked seed, and Games Academy, the ninth-ranked seed, will play a qualification round before the round of eight to determine who advances.
From then, the tournament will run as a single elimination bracket with all matches being played in a best-of-three format. The schedule for the event is officially:
|Saturday, September 12th|
|18:00||Mythic||vs. Games Academy|
|20:30||Luminosity||vs. Winner of Mythic vs. Games Academy|
|Sunday, September 13th|
|16:30||Third Place Match|
The map pool will be CEVO’s standard map pool, which is nothing that deviates from the international competitive standard. Teams will go through a “ban, ban, pick, pick, random third” process for map selection.
Finally, the tournament’s prize-pool distribution is:
1. – $9,000
2. – $4,000
3. – $2,000
