LGB eSports have announced that they will be attending DreamHack Summer with two stand-ins.
The future of the Norwegian team has up in the air for almost two weeks now as they have been fielding Morten “zEVES” Vollan and Martin “cENTRYZ” Brandal as stand-ins in recent online matches.
Despite all the rumours, LGB remained silent on the matter, leaving fans wondering about the lineup for this weekend’s DreamHack Open Summer tournament, which will have $40,000 on offer.
LGB has now announced via their Facebook page that both Vollan and Brandal will play for the team in Sweden as replacements for Kristoffer “Mystic” Michelsen and Preben “prb” Gammelsæter.
zEVES to attend an offline event with LGB again
The organisation explained that Michelsen, who joined the team on a permanent basis just two weeks ago, is unable to attend the event due to “a family situation”. No explanation was offered about the situation of Gammelsæter, who was brought on as a substitute in April following Mikail “Maikelele” Bill’s departure.
LGB have been drawn alongside fnatic, Titan and FlipSid3 Tactics in DreamHack Summer’s group stage and are due to face the Swedish side in the first round of matches.
The Norwegian team will attend the event with:
Ruben “RUBINO” Villarroel
Joakim “jkaem” Myrbostad
Pål “Polly” Kammen
Morten “zEVES” Vollan (stand-in)
Martin “cENTRYZ” Brandal (stand-in)
