ACE Gaming have confirmed the addition of Andreas “maxaki” Andersson to their CS:GO squad.

The Swedish player had been expected to join ACE after playing for the Canadian team as a substitute in CEVO Professional and in the ESL ESEA Pro League.

A former member of LGB eSports and Orbit, Andreas “Maxaki” Andersson had recently made headlines when he put together an international roster called Sententia Mortis together with three other Nordic players and British veteran George “hudzG” Hoskins.

Such a team will apparently never see the light of day, however, as Andersson will move to Canada next week to reinforce ACE, who are eager to beef up their strategies to cement their place in the top tier of the North American scene.

“Going across the world to play a game I love is going to be lots of fun and a once in a lifetime experience,” Andersson said in a statement.

“My goal is to try to bring some fresh EU air into the NA scene by supporting this team with everything I know about CS.

“It’s initially going to be an uphill battle implementing a new playstyle, but I’m sure it will benefit us in the long run.”

Andersson has become the second Swedish player to move to North America to play Counter-Strike competitively in just one month following Luminosity Gaming’s signing of Jacob “pyth” Mourujärvi, who curiously played alongside Andersson in Orbit.

Also flying from Sweden to Canada will be renowned tournament admin and former LGB manager Robert “LillRobbaN” Jonasson, who caught ACE’s eye when he wrote an open letter to CLG, who are accepting applications for the last position on their team, suggesting Andersson, Nikola “NiKo” Kovač and Casper “cadiaN” Møller as potential recruits.

“For me it’s a great honor having been asked to take part in this project,” Jonasson said.

“On a personal level I see this as an amazing challenge and opportunity, while I’m also very grateful to Ace Gaming for allowing me the chance to bring along Maxaki, a player I respect and have enjoyed working with in previous teams.

“As I will be taking on a combined coaching and management role I will also get full access to help shape this team from the inside, bringing a European way of thinking to the NA scene. “

ACE Gaming have a lot of work to do to turn their season around as they currently sit at the foot of the table in both CEVO Professional and in the ESL ESEA Pro League, without a single victory from 11 matches.

The team’s lineup is the following:

Stephan “vEz” Vezina
 Neil “montE” Montgomery
 Phillipe-Olivier “PEX” Crepin
 Mike “decipLe” Baker
 Andreas “Maxaki” Andersson

 Robert “LillRobbaN” Jonasson (coach/manager)
